Hangarage / Tie Down Space at Sittles farm near Lichfield Staffordshire.
We have a few spaces available for membership at our flying club which includes access to any available Hangarage and / or Tie down.
Sittles Flying Club is located on a working farm, this gives us a 24 hour presence of the farmer (added security by his presence) and a secure gated access to the Airfield & the farm buildings where the hangers are located.
We are a small club with various aircraft types based at the field but mainly LAA / BMAA aircraft, we can accommodate larger/ C of A aircraft but all pilots must be competent flying into a “real” farm strip. Details here: http://www.sittlesflyers.com/Airfield.htm
Currently Types hangared at Sittles include, Vans Rv6, 7A, 9A. 4 x Eurostar, Mcr 01, Minimax, etc etc.
The number of spaces currently available is limited by the aircraft type.
EG: A Pa28 will not fit into the hangars available but 2 flexi wings or one LAA / BMAA Type fixed wing will, however we have space outside for 2 x Pa28, 2 x 152, Jodel, Gruman, TB10/20 etc or similar size aircraft. There is also space where you may be able convert a tie down space to a “fold over” cover area which will require construction.
East west runway is 530m & the 17/35 is 350m with an upslope / downslope.
Current fees are £550 per year for one person membership & unlimited use during daylight hours 7 days a week but excluding joining fee & hangar purchase / construction costs. This is a “not for profit” club so you will be paying a mere fraction of what you would pay at a commercial airfield but you will be expected to share with the maintenance of the grounds and equipment including sitting on a tractor & mowing the grass!
