I have operated the Spitfire from a 650 metre grass strip in Lincolnshire for the last 12 months and have enjoyed every second of it. It’s now time to sell on as I have a new business venture which requires considerable time and investment.
These machines very rarely come onto the market as it takes thousands of man hours to build, not to mention the best part of £250,000.
This Spitfire was built in 2007 and has flown 42 hours. The elliptical wings can regularly be seen buzzing over the East coastline. It really is a delight to fly and can be flown by anyone who can reach PPL standards. I am happy to display the aircraft to serious buyers.
The Jabiru 5100 eight cylinder engine fits beautifully within the split cowlings for easy access and maintenance. The engine drives a Sensenich fixed pitch propeller. Max cruise 140 knots @ 2800 rpm. Econ cruise 120 knots @ 2600 rpm. 30 litres/hr.
